Students

The AI Ethics Lab offers Rutgers–Camden students the opportunity to engage in research, writing, teaching, and presenting while gaining practical experience applying AI ethics and law in their chosen professions.

Students may participate as:


Students may also earn undergraduate or graduate credit by enrolling in one of the lab’s courses or by participating in campus events.

Become a Research Assistant

Join an international research team to identify moral challenges and develop practical policy strategies that foster responsible technologies benefiting humanity and the environment.

Become a Contributing Author

Join an international team of scholars and students to develop glossary entries and articles for the AI & Human Rights Index.

Become a Teaching Assistant

Assist Dr. Nathan C. Walker in teaching undergraduate courses on AI. Engage in pedagogical reflection on the art and science of teaching and learning.

Earn Academic Credit

Earn undergraduate or graduate credit through coursework or independent study focused on the ethical and legal implications of artificial intelligence.

Interdisciplinary Engagement

Students participating in the AI Ethics Lab represent twenty academic disciplines across STEM, the humanities, social sciences, business, and health sciences, reflecting the lab’s interdisciplinary reach across Rutgers–Camden.

These research collaborations have resulted in undergraduate students publishing ten articles in the AI & Human Rights Index. In February 2026, six students presented their research on AI and human rights at the Envision conference held at Princeton University.
