Research Assistant Awarded Goldwater Scholarship

Amisha Rastogi, Research Assistant at the AI Ethics Lab, was honored to be selected as a 2026 Barry Goldwater Scholar. The Barry Goldwater Scholarship is a prestigious undergraduate recognition for students pursuing research careers in the natural sciences, engineering, and mathematics in the United States.

Established by Congress, the Goldwater Scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate promise as future leaders in scientific research. For the 2026-2027 Academic Year, the Goldwater Board awarded 454 scholarships to sophomores and juniors around the nation.

Amisha is a junior majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She is also in her second year of the 3+4 Accelerated B.S./D.O. Program with the Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine, a combined undergraduate and medical degree pathway. Through research opportunities at Rutgers-Camden, especially the AI Ethics Lab, she has developed an interest in research at the intersection of neuroscience, ethics, and patient-centered care.

Receiving the Goldwater Scholarship is a meaningful recognition for Amisha, reflecting not only her research and academic growth, but also the support of mentors, peers, and family that have guided her along the way. The award also provides access to a distinguished network of scholars and researchers.
